KiwiSaver for first home buyers

Rob Parsons and Co. Mortgage First can also provide advice regarding KiwiSaver, which provides two ways to help first home buyers:

KiwiSaver HomeStart Grant

This replaced the previous ‘KiwiSaver deposit subsidy’ for first home buyers. Various eligibility criteria include that you are a member of a KiwiSaver scheme, complying fund or exempt employer scheme… And you have contributed at least the minimum allowable percentage of your total income to it, for at least three years.

KiwiSaver First-Home Withdrawal

If you’re eligible and if you belong to a complying fund (not all KiwiSaver providers offer First-Home Withdrawal as an option), to buy your first home you may be able to withdraw KiwiSaver savings - provided you leave a minimum balance of $1,000 in your KiwiSaver account.

Welcome Home Loans for first home buyers

Rob Parsons and Co. Mortgage First can also assist with applying for a Welcome Home Loan - an attractive option for first home buyers, as it only requires a 10% deposit. The loans are underwritten by Housing New Zealand, through selected banks and lenders. Housing New Zealand sets the eligibility criteria, the lenders assess applications.
